Valeria Sacchetti was born in Modena and lives in Carpi, in 1997 she graduated in History in Bologna within the faculty of Literature and Philosophy.
From 2000 to 2005 she traveled to different countries making reportages for newspapers and magazines in Chile, France, Mexico, Iraq and Bosnia. From 2008 to 2010 he worked as a literature teacher in Rome and here he attended an annual master’s degree at the “Roman School of Photography”. In 2011 with the association “Vivere donna onlus” of Carpi, he created a photographic exhibition that will be exhibited in Carpi, Mantua, Pavullo and other cities to denounce the condition of women within the home.
In 2016, after five years of work, he publishes the book with Artestampa “Resistant Generation”, a long documentary work on the Modenese Resistance with photographs and stories of partisans and partisans.
From 2013 to 2020 she worked on a documentary project on the Modena lowlands entitled “Journey to the Lowlands”.
This work has received several prizes and awards: finalist at the Kolga Tiblisi photo award, winner of the first stage of Portfolio Italia FIAFF in Bibbiena and included among the ten finalist works, first prize in the “Photojournalism” category at the Monovision Photography Awards.
In October 2020 he won Trieste Photoday Festival in the Urban Book Award section and was selected to participate in the Fest Poa Brazil. From 2020 he is part of the photographic collective “Contrails”.
