Stories and faces of the witnesses of the Resistance to Nazi-Fascism in the Modena area
Generazione resistente is a project created with the aim of collecting the stories and faces of the witnesses of the Resistance to Nazi-Fascism in the Modena area. For five years, the curator Valeria Sacchetti, with the help of the ANPI of the province of Modena, contacted, interviewed and photographed the partisans and partisans who fought in the liberation struggle in the Modena areas. She asked them to tell a significant episode of those years and to pose for a color portrait, alongside the black and white photograph that portrays them, in their twenties, at the time of the Second World War. An image of yesterday and one of today in comparison, linked by the same thread: the life story of men and women who helped liberate Italy and who were the protagonists of a generation capable of courage and generosity.
